Saudi Arabia and Indonesia co-host Celebration of Maritime Cooperation
On October 21, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s mission to the IMO, in partnership with the Indonesian mission, co-hosted an event at the Indonesian Embassy in London. The event was attended by representatives from Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states and was a display of their nations’ commitment to the IMO, its mission, and its objectives.
Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the IMO, Eng. Essam Al Ammari delivered a speech welcoming the guests and expressed his optimism for future partnerships and projects. Secretary General of the IMO, Mr. Kitack Lim, also in attendance, then welcomed the gathering of OIC member states and spoke of the kindness and generosity he has experienced on visits to Islamic nations.
The event acted as a backdrop for a presentation of Saudi Arabia’s official campaign video for election to Council C of the IMO, which outlined Saudi Arabia’s commitment to climate, cooperation and seafarers, and can be viewed online at:
