Saudi Minister of Transport discusses bilateral cooperation with UK Minister of Shipping

On September 29th, H.E. Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh Al Jasser, met the UK’s Minister of Shipping, Robert Courts MP, at the UK Government’s Ministry of Transport in London.

The ministers emphasised the importance of global interconnectivity for building and maintaining relationships with other nations, and particularly the key role of transport hubs such as airports and maritime ports.

Minister Al Jasser spoke about the major infrastructure projects being undertaken in Saudi Arabia, including two new state-of-the-art airports in the Al Jawf province and an expansion to the shipping port in Jeddah. These projects will facilitate an increase in tourism and trade domestically and internationally.

Minister Courts MP commended Saudi Arabia’s research and development in the area of green and blue hydrogen. This is a key part of Saudi Arabia’s wider response to climate mitigation.

The insightful and constructive meeting closed with a reassertion of future support and partnership between the two kingdoms.
