Saudi Ministerial Delegation visits International Group of Protection & Indemnity Clubs (IGP&I)

On September 29th a delegation of senior Saudi transport representatives led by H.E. Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh Al Jasser, visited The International Group of Protection & Indemnity Clubs (IGP&I) at their headquarters in London.

The thirteen clubs, which collectively from the ‘Group’, provide marine liability cover for approximately 90% of the world’s ocean-going tonnage. The meeting facilitated a greater understanding of IGP&I’s mission and objectives, and provided the opportunity for discussions on potential future cooperation.

Representatives from IGP&I emphasized that decarbonisation was the central issue currently being dealt with. The Minister described in detail KSA’s commitments to climate change and the environment, pointing to the Kingdom’s research and development in green hydrogen. The Minister also referred to NEOM as a shining example of Saudi Arabia’s dedication to clean and sustainable technologies.

This meaningful and mutually beneficial meeting closed with a reaffirmation of a desire for future cooperation.
