Saudi Arabia partners with IMO to support FAL Convention

On November 28th - 30th, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in conjunction with the International Maritime Organisation supported a regional webinar promoting the ratification and the effective implementation of the FAL Convention. The convention was opened by HE. Dr Rumaih Al Rumaih, Chairman of the Saudi Transport General Authority who highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to the IMO and its projects.

The FAL Convention seeks to simplify the administrative process of cross border trade by uniting all relevant bodies under the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). This will establish a more cohesive system for all, facilitating effective and efficient maritime transport and global supply movements - helping to reduce emissions as part of the wider campaign to combat climate change.
